    Lilith, On Cardinal Lane

The road I grew up on had a house that rarely got sunlight. A mossy little place swallowed in the shadowof a tree so enormousthat it seemed to shield that homefrom the outside world. The other kids called it a witch...

    • First of all, thank you for the mention on this incredible piece. You don’t know how close to a moment in my life you danced with this one. I have a poem Darkness Doesn’t Fade, to be shared at some point later, that you might find interesting. There’s so much beauty in this piece you’ve shared. So much depth. And a clear, simply profound way of telling the story. Also, I have a little white fiber optic tree with a cardinal on it for every loved one I’ve lost over the years, human and furry both. It stays up all year. So much I love about this!

      • Wow, your comment affirms my intuition on how writing this one made me think of you, in regards to how you’re wired. Sometimes I(we all?) get vibes from reading the works of others, and it inspires us in some fashion.
I am so thrilled that you saw it in the positive light that I intended. Thanks for the smile!

    • Thanks Damian. All is well. Del was here for five days, which is always awesome, until it’s time for her to leave. But we are making do.
I hope you are kicking some literary ass my good man!

    • Hey baby! Long time no see! Well, not in here huh. LOL.
I really liked this write, and how it panned out. nothing like I imagined when I was scheming on it. But that’s the beauty of creative thinking and writing.

    The Work

Hemingway saidthere is nothing to writing.Just sit down at the typewriterand bleed. Maybe he was right.Maybe the words have to comefrom somewhere deep. From old wounds. From places we would rather hide.Maybe the ghosts need to come outand walk around for a...

    • It’s definitely the noticing. Being present. And then letting the bleeding begin. The way you share a story or a thought always amazes me. It reminds me of sitting quietly on the porch as sun goes down, listening to someone reminisce or ponder life’s journey. I love that your cats so often play a part in your story 😊
