    Mr. Blue Eyes

Years ago I was homeless at age 23. I panhandled and prostituted myself to stay alive in the streets of Springfield. It wasn't until towards the end that my guardian angel swept me off my feet… One late night, cold...

    Your Flickering Piety

My muse, my cloak - when you’re here beside me, Think of these shadows you cast upon me, out of a smothered light Are forbidden pleasures of yours as much as can be. Like a glove you love to wrap me within...

    Nightfall Embrace

Dawn in your waking eyes, dusk in your dying eyes. Our eyelids peel in daybreak and embrace in nightfall.   There was an aurora of tears in your dusking eyes. Now a velvety blackness behind those fallen eyelids.   Now a death-like still in those tear-wells. Now a life-like rush in bulging...

    • I am with you, my friend. What ever happened to depth? Conversations these days are akin to eating chocolate shell while forgetting about the ice cream. It’s why poets like you exist – to remind us of these things. Thoughtful and excellent write!

    • We never really know how people perceive us. We go out of our way to put our best foot forward, but somehow our demeanor gets lost in the translation. Staying true to yourself is your survival. It’s all we have at the end of the day. Take care, Peter!

    • Powerfully penned, Peter. Excellent write my friend. I can relate, I used to get caught up in wondering how others perceived me. It will drive you crazy going down the rabbit hole. Being we’re not able to hop in one another’s minds, it only leaves one to assume. And assumptions are the mother of all fuck ups, mainly because it’s impossible to for any human to be 100% accurate. It’s best to stay true to your moral compass and always trust your gut. That’s just my opinion though. Take care brother. Appreciate you.
