you live within my breath,
a steady pulse that anchors me
when distance stretches thin

Your words move through my days
like soft February weather,
a hush of rain that touches me
with the warmth of being wanted

And on the nights you feel alone,
I feel the echo of it too
Two hearts leaning across the dark
trying to meet in the middle

So tonight I’m answering
the love you sent on paper
with love requited onto parchment
-The way my heart never stutters
My dedicated heart
turns like a lantern toward you
casting its quiet devotion
across the miles between us

I send you gentle dreams
of moonlit windows and open skies
Where the night curves softly
around the shape of your name
And if the stars have traveled

I just loved this. The sheer lyrical imagery danced in my heart as I read. I could feel the playful and oh so passionate joy here. This is what I love about poetry. When a person of your gift writes poetry that makes me want to dance on clouds.
