    One Last Dance

When I dieI want to goGracefully likeAn autumn leaf I won't cling desperately To a barren treeBut leave this lifeLight-hearted and free Looking back at a lifetimeFull of compassionFull of kindnessFull of love At last, I let goGently floating down In all...

      • This years hot summer came with major challenges for me. But the arrival of autumn and cooler temperatures was a great relief!
I hope you are also fine, creative and in high spirits!
        Warmly,
        Elke

    • It’s about damn time you posted again! And the wait has been worth it, with your high quality gems.
      – I was going to post something involving trees/leaves tonight actually, but there’s a glitch in posting currently, It has to wait.
But we have your wonderful poem to inspire us, and it does. I love the calm of this “ending” towards life. It brings a peace of mind that life has been rewarding. It is a soothing tone. What a great approach.
      wonderful write, Elke.

      • Thousand and one times thank you for your kind comments, dear Styxian! Your appreciation and your support make me blush!
I hope this autumn brings you high creativity, what I have no doubt about, and peace of mind!
        Warm regards
        Elke

    • Thank you for your kind comments, dear Peter!

  • Maya and Me

She pulled his jumper up to her face, breathed him into the now empty space.Flopped in the chair that was clearly his own,not sad, not lonely, not even alone.Through the window his eyes once looked throughshe smiled and pondered the beautiful...

    • This is so beautiful. You captured that moment and made me feel the loss but then the beauty of life. They existed.

    • The atrocities of war felt by everyone

    • Powerfully penned, James. Another excellent write about the horrors of war my friend. The casualties are not just the ones who lose their life in battle. It’s returning soldiers and their families that carry those scars as well. Amazing read as always. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Thanks for reading. Generations of damaged people. War is not what people want. Presidents and premiers choose it for us.
        Regards
        James

    • I can speak from experience. Many times the civilians are truly the major suffering. They didn’t sign up for any of it. I’ve seen enough back in my days that I learned what a crock of shit most of it really is. Politicians and profits and land grabs.
Great write, Knight. You don’t have to be a Veteran (or active military) to understand the plight of so many.
      Well spoken.

    • Thanks for reading and comenting. Only billionaires and politician win wars. Everyone else looses.

      Regards
      James
