    Shipwrecked Soul

Ahoy! There she is! In formal times, gracefully gliding across the glassy sea. Her figure so stout and proud. On a voyage so resolute, unwavering against the coming storms and serpents of the deep blue sea. Her sails swelled by the gift of...

    St. Augustine

    • It was a great vacation baby! And when I saw this title, I was expecting it to be more about that, and not about my Army years, etc.
I used to write little snippets of lines on whatever scrap paper I could find back then. It was my woo-sah thing. Nowadays we have computers and Ipads etc. My ol tablet was my go-to for years! It’s ancient and still works, like me. LOL

This is a beautiful gift, this write. I took it to heart, right beside where you reside already. You are incredible.
I know how lucky I am, to have found you. Or you snared me, whichever it was!!!
This is quite a write, babydoll. Dammit.

    • Well it’s all true. I wanted to post a pic but I couldn’t fit it and I was excited to post this!
I didn’t want to try and figure it out.
I was jotting things down at work after lunch. Came home and wrote this.
I’m lucky to have found you too. It’s a two way street here pal!
Okay. Time to go to bed! I’m fixing to call you goodnight!

      I love you too!!

    • You had us at St Augustine, you couldn’t had read us at DUP and not know we have tons of family there. We read this seeing Seminoles, and Spanish cannon offering freedom to runaways. Tight

    • We went to go see the fountain of youth museum and they fired the cannon!
OMG Meme! It was awesome! Viva St. Augustine they shouted before they lit the cannon.
Had a great time and beautiful memories. You are so lucky to have family there. It’s beautiful.
That was my first visit. Hopefully with more to come.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

    • Adelphina, I was expecting to read about a vacation to St. Augustine Florida but was so moved beyond words by the story that unfolded before my very eyes. Truly a treasure of a poem that I am most honored to read by you tonight. This is filled with everything great poetry is about. A gently scribed lovers passion of a poem.

      • Hi John!

I jotted things down all day at work. Went home and got started writing.
I caught my small little typos – it’s vs its and fixed!!
I was in a rush to get the words down they slipped by me!
I’m glad you enjoyed :). And it’s nice to see you on my page.
I hope you have been well amigo:)

        Thanks for stopping by!

    • Blimey A. This pulsed my heart a little bit faster. A great eulogy and metaphor to your love for each other.

      • Hey Rob:)

It was time for me to show Mark some love. Our vacation was spectacular
so I used it for some inspiration.
This came to me at work and I was so excited to get home and write.
It was a beautiful place. Even went to the fountain of youth museum.

        Thanks for stopping by!
        Stay cool amigo!

    • Beautifully penned, Adel. An amazing poem about the love and memories you and Mark share. Excellent work. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Hi Damien,

Mark writes such lovely poems about love and I wanted to give him some back.
I sent him the draft before I posted and he texted me right back with an OMG! Lol
He was so thrown off he didn’t tell me about my two little typos that I just fixed. Hahaha

        Have a great evening amigo.
        Thanks for reading:)

    • Nope we have to keep others reading and enjoying, we want you entertained Lady. Thanks

    • This is a magnificent addition to the Beowulf legend. Truly fine storytelling. You really wrote this elegantly and an in grand mythical style. This had me riveted to the screen as I read. I love ancient myth and this is a fine example of a modern writer expanding on a mythical theme.

    • The shock of discovering you killed your own. That is a horrible way to find out. I like how you wove this tale.

      • Think of Oedipus and the final realization after you impregnate you own mom, hahaha, life is mythology and visa versa at times. Thanks Lady

    • One of our favorite pieces and movies and to put it in a different era the kids may read this, thank you Lady

    • This is an awesomely told tale my friend. You have the story tellers gift for taking an ancient story and breathing into it a fresh perspective that is so invigorating to read. You engage the reader with suspense and then that explosive ending. I too thought of Oedipus when that ending came. A worthy addition to the myth.

    • We really appreciate your reading and comment, much respect
