    Pretend

    • Reminds me of the saying “you’re only as good as your last hit”. Not really sure why, but has that vibe of chasing a dream.

      Great ink

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Nick. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That saying is actually true to an extent. Whether it be a record company, or songwriting partner, they believe that to be the case. It’s a crazy world. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • Makes me wonder what happened & where he went in his mind. Watching someone whose clock is ticking on self-destruct mode is rough. Friendships always seem to be the first casualties. Sounds like he choose something not real over value, in my opinion, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with write my friend. In the end it was all about him. He only came to me when help was needed where his bandmates couldn’t help. What changed the most was even in those moments when I would help, he questioned every idea. Then would take something he liked I said, and totally reword it into his lines. That may sound petty on it’s face on my part, but it wasn’t like that until the last 6 months we were friends. It was like he doubted me for some reason. I mean all I did was get sober, while he remained on the sauce. Go figure. lol. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • Best line: funneling booze into a hemorrhaging mind…

      Great work as always Damian!

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Daniel. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I loved that line a lot as well. Appreciate you.

    • Fantastic work, my friend. Vivid and sharp.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Thomas. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Mary. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It was for the best I guess, he’s still doing the same thing last I heard. Meanwhile, I got a whole creative family/community first at DU then here at SR. I host, Backstage, and SpotLight. And I’m writing again, I think I did alright on my own. Appreciate you.

      Damian

    • Always a joy reading your writes. Sadly, friendships usually don’t last forever. Great write my friend.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Keith. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That they don’t, it’s kinda sad when you really think about that little footnote you just mentioned. Appreciate you.

    • Oof…i felt this one like a fist in the gut. Guilt truly is like cancer…eats you up. And fear will wear you down. And they tag team far too well. The amazing thing about your late night musing is that it’s not directed. You let it take the wheel…& where it takes the reader is anyone’s guess. But we’re all buckled in for a fantastic ride, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. They are a powerful tag team for sure. I try not to alter lines, other than maybe shaving a word here and there for better flow. But for the most part I don’t have a preconceived notion of what I’m writing about. That’s only on poetry though, proses I usually have an idea of what story I’m telling. The tangents I go on are improvised though. lol. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • Guilt provokes necrosis of the soul…
      Great piece Damian. ⚘️

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Jade. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Nice line, that works for me. Appreciate you.

    • I’ve been living with guilt for 30 years … I know

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Sam. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Then you definitely understand, indeed. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • Damian, I gave up living with guilt long ago. I surrendered it, to a force much greater than I.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Alexandria. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I too have surrendered a lot of mine as well, to a greater force as well. Except for a very deep and complicated guilt over a situation, and it’s a work in progress at the moment. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • Life is a ride with different turns. Great ink

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Nick. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Very true. Appreciate you.

    • Guilt sucks. Practice in becoming a sociopath. It will erase all those guilty feelings. Great write Damian.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Keith. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That it might, but I don’t know if I’d like myself anymore. Although if I was a sociopath I probably wouldn’t care, would I? No, it’s a hard no. lol. Appreciate you.

    • Sometimes life is like playing Russian Roulette. There’s truth in this.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Alexandria. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It sometimes seems that way, I wish it wasn’t. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • We play Russian Roulette with our lives everyday. Sad but true. Powerful piece my friend.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Keith. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Unfortunately, that appears to be the case. Appreciate you.

    • Mission accomplished! ❤️
      xx

    • Passionately penned, P.G. Might I add while it did got hot in here, that this is also a very clever write my friend. Love breaking the 4th wall much? lol. That was really cool actually giving the reader a role inside the fantasy, by the way it occurs to me if you didn’t intend it that way and were somehow unaware, that I might have just opened Pandora’s box. I’m going with you intended it that way. Fantastic spill. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Haha if I told you, dearest Damian, it wouldn’t be my best keep secret anymore would it? 😉 Good eye though my friend. Your observation is refreshing!! xx

    • Playing with fire burns,

    • Well played out erotic scene. Loved how the anticipation bult as the story unfolded. And loved the playful reactions you had as he orchestrated your pleasure.

      KX AWARD

      • Your words wrapped around me like silk and steel – soft praise with just enough edge to leave a mark.
I felt that “YOU always shine in my eyes”…
Careful. Say things like that too often, and I might just let you be the one to break me – slowly, beautifully – until I glow just for you.

        BIG tease.
        BIG smile.
BIG curiosity now about how you’d like to remake me…

        💋

        • Remaking you would be a visceral wonderland …
          Stay close
          Don’t waver
          I’m coming for you …

    • Passionately penned, Kristina. A clever write, with a touch of kink my friend. Nicely done. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Damian… you always know how to make a girl blush just beneath the surface.
A touch of kink, you say? Just enough to pique your curiosity… or leave you wanting more?
But trust me there is a hella lot of kink in me, too much for most people to handle… haha

I appreciate you for always catching the quiet heat tucked between my lines.
        Kisses in ink… 💋

    • Ahh, you definitely get it.
There’s something unspeakably powerful about being taken apart… only to be rebuilt again, piece by trembling piece, more radiant (or darker) than before.

It’s so good to see you, too.
Kindred souls always seem to find each other in the smoke and ashes… and maybe, just maybe, we’re the ones who know how to rebuild with a little more fire in our touch.

Thank you for feeling this with me.
Let’s keep shining through the ruin, yeah?

      🔥💋

    • Too many ropes, and leashes
      But no bra..

A poem that reads like too many hands touching, feeling your body at once!

      • Mmm… you felt that, didn’t you?
The absence of a bra is never about clothing-
        it’s about access.
About letting the words grope and graze,
like hands that don’t ask permission – just take.

Thank you for reading so close…
I do love when someone touches with their mind.

    • Lovely, pure seduction cascading down the page, hanging on to every word, wanting and waiting for more.
      Great stuff Kristina.

      • Careful, charmer – words like that make my ink run hotter.
If you’re already breathless, you’d better keep a fan handy; I’m only on the first pour. Stay close… the next line might steal more than just your breath. 💋 It’s always so great to hear from you Wally and I am so sorry for the late reply…

    • This is scintillatingly sensually alive that grabs me where the sun don’t shine and holds me there as I writhe under your spell. Truly you put the iron to the fire here my friend. And I am seduced by you.

      John

      • Oh John… if my words have you writhing, imagine what I could do if I truly meant to seduce you. 🔥 I’d keep you right there in that heat… until you beg to burn.
