It is Oaktoberthe trees are rusting, but within our heartsit is still Spring. The leaves are changing huethey fall nonchalantlyand dress themselves in our hairlike Mercury’s cap,as if wings could aid our escapefrom life’s winter. And as well, I change my perspective.I...

    • Okay you both are adorable. I agree this is perfect for the holidays. You have a beautiful way you convey your thoughts in poetry.

      • Hello Fia!
Me and Del really bring out the playful nature in each other. Yes, we are goofy when together too! It’s a very well rounded relationship. We are fortunate to have each other, I know.
As for my writing, I rushed this one. It shows, it’s clunky. Perhaps I will edit it some, here and there. I don’t think I will be writing new material for awhile, lots to do. But maybe Iwill post older stuff. I have a few, lol.
Thanks for the props, Fia. You’re like the head teacher here, so I feel vindicated when you give me a positive note. It means a lot!

    • Well the weather here finally decided to relax! LOL. 59 degrees in the morning is awesome! and you know how I love to write on my back patio. And yeah, drinking my mocha!
We got lucky, how our creative writing led us towards one another. What an awesome reward.
      Smooches!
November is so far away….. dammit.

    • Beautifully penned, Mark. Another excellent write with fantastic storytelling my friend. Sounds like you and Adel have a well rounded relationship, that’s a wonderful thing indeed. Amazing read as always. Appreciate you.

    Book Of Scars

    • Ohh there is so much in this piece. What got me it I wore the ancestors of these jeans…Damn what a line.

      • LOL, you like how I used Wrangler jeans there? I happened to have on a pair as I wrote those lines. How ironic huh.
Thanks Fia. I hope NY is treating you well!

    • Fine, it’s a tie. LOL.
We’re pretty good at mutual stuff…

    • Hello Damian.
Yeah, why not a praying mantis. I think they are cool as hell actually. Ever since I saw my first one as a kid, as it was eating a caterpillar like a piece of corn on the cob, I’ve been amazed by them. Little green demons, lol.
Thank you much, too, for the nod.

    • Dude, I have a lot of scars! And several tatts, ahem. -Been quite the life. Nowadays all is mostly mellow and I am thankful for it!
And you can jack my title. When I thought of it a couple of weeks ago, I told Del that I gotta use it somewhere! This write is the result.
      Thank you much, Peter.

    • Amazing writing, dear Styxian. So authentic and pure! Scars are a sign that life has been lived. And I think that prayers never remain unanswered. But often we realize not before many times has passed, in which way the answer has manifested in our lives.

    • The funny thing is, (well, not funny exactly!), is I have had so many misfortunes over the years. I used to look at it as bad luck. Yet then, perhaps the fact that I have got this far in pretty decent shape overall, it’s always been secretly good luck to make it through.
And hey, it’s good to see you around again! Good writers like you should be more frequent!

    Darkness Doesn't Fade

    • willow… wow… when I heard this its as if I was sitting on that porch listening to the the story… amazing

    • Beautiful. I love this. Powerful. Vivid and sharp.

    • First off, the rhyme scheme is on point. I can tell you really had to pull some crafty words to make the rhyme and tempo stay true. You succeeded. The story within is great, it follows through well and ends with a great mood.
      Awesome Willow.

    • I just listened to the recording! The music matched the tone of your write perfectly.
Even the voice! I’m all for letting go of dead weight in any write. Nicely done:)

    • Powerfully penned, Willow. Another excellent write that exercises demons while telling this tale of survival my friend. The music sets the mood as the voice delivers the truth while speaking your words with precision. Goosebumps on this one. Amazing read/listen as always. Appreciate you, Sis.
