    • I like this and I wholehearted agree that one must face their Karma. No running from it.

      • Happy morning, Lady Fia 🌤️

Thank you for looking at this rather sombre little composition on self-observation and responsibility.
If anyone, I knew it would be You who would grasp its true essence.

        Hugs! ⁓ Richard🖌️

    • this is another great Richard..

    Embracing Shadows

I did miss you... from time to time... I’m not going to lie  it’s the truth   but I’ve been thinking... (yeah, I know...it's a dubious habit of mine...) and I was hit with an epiphany... certain facts suddenly striking me... this thing we foolishly called love... it didn’t...

    • “It never even existed” well felt that and I am pretty sure a lot of people do… Really good piece.

      • That good ol’ wishful thinking at its finest. We create something bigger in our minds/hearts than is really there…at least on their part. So when they burst the bubble, it’s shattering on so many levels. Thank you, Fia

    • When i first wrote this, it was from her perspective. Listening to her talk about it and how she felt about it. It wasn’t until later that I had reason to relate to it as she did. She never saw the poem or heard the song until recently because I didn’t want to scratch the wound. But she’s heard it now. Thank you, Brenda 🧡

    • My daughter only heard it today and has announced that I should be the official lyricist of her life. It’s finally been long enough that the pain isn’t as fresh, so I let her hear it for the first time. That “chorus” was a recent addition…written from fresh understanding of my own. Thank you, my friend

    • My daughter is an amazing woman…just not his amazing. And that’s not his loss or hers. She gained a lot of sense of self from the experience and is a stronger person than she was then. Like her mother, she’s a giver. And that usually involves giving too much leeway and too many chances. Hope dies slowly, I guess. Thank you, Honoria

    • Powerful work. Tremendous writing.

    • There is a fire of honesty and feeling here.
      This stood out:
“it’s not how you held me…

      it’s what you held back…”

      Great work
      Regards
      James

    • Hi Willow!
The poem is great but with the added song, it sounds so smooth. Like velvet.
      Just awesome!

      • When I played it for my daughter the day I posted (first time she’d ever heard it), she said I need to be her official life lyricist. It was way too close to tender wounds for a long time. I couldn’t show until the scars healed. Thank you, Adelphina

    • I said it before this is a beautiful conversation between the both of you

      • Thank Fia! We were actually talking about the desert and the oasis the other day on FaceTime. Had no clue we would be writing a poem about that subject! Life can surprise you!
You just never know what will make for good conversation and poetry.
I love that we merged it into one piece.

        Thanks for stopping by!

    • I saw there were a bunch of comments on his post, so I sauntered over to post mine on your post instead. Gotta spread the love evenly, ya know. This is a beautiful collaboration and I fully relate to the desert/oasis vibe. I once wrote a piece titled Shifting Sands for my sweetie. Maybe I’ll drop it here at some point too. It’s funny how a word or a phrase acts as a springboard and we’re off!

      • Hi Willow. You should post it!! Whenever you are ready too, I’d love to read it.
You are a fantastic writer chica!

That’s what I love about being surrounded by writers. You just never know when you will be inspired. It just kind of crashes into you!

And thank you for stopping by on my post:)
        I’m glad you enjoyed!

    • Thank you Crimsin:)
Mark and i have done a few collaborations but this one is extra special!
      Have a wonderful Saturday!

    • Awwww. What an awesome comment.
Thank you for teaching me a new word!
That is exactly what Mark is for me!

    • Love like this doesn’t die—it just gets buried deep, waiting on stubborn hands to dig it back into daylight.
Your desert’s harsh, but the water’s still down there somewhere, whispering both your names.

      • Hi Thomas! That is exactly what i was trying to convey.
I was trying to find different forms of separation that are connected.
Everyone writes about the sun chasing the moon or vise versa.
I’m stoked that you got it! We gotta dig buddy, to recover from lost love and to find it.

        Thanks for stopping by!

    • Beautifully penned, Adel & Mark. What a lovely collaboration, really love the back and forth between you two, as in life and in love, your words also show your undeniable connection. Nicely done. Appreciate you both.

      Damian

      • Hey Damien!

When you connect with someone on a physical level and outside of it, you hold on amigo.
Mark and I have great conversations all the time. We really do pay attention to each other and have great laughs too.
Don’t get him started on aliens!! Hahaha.
Which is how we got to talking about the desert and lost civilizations.
Then I read Crimsin’s poem and it all just clicked and the words began to flow like sand!

        Thanks for stopping by Damien!
Always a pleasure seeing you on my page amigo!

    • Dear A&M,

Two hands writing as one was inspirational to say the least. I found such hope in this write for those of us lost in the quagmire. I enjoyed how this write came to be and how we can create from a grain of sand from someone else’s sandbox and share. So many levels of metaphor, love, singular and joint thoughts. Loved the connection of the stanzas and how it was formatted in conversational style. Great piece! H🌷

      • Hi H!
I love this comment. For me it’s important when writing to also acknowledge the inspiration behind it.
Mark inspires me all the time, so do other writers on this site.

I also wanted to find a different metaphor besides the sun chasing the moon.
There are other connections we can draw from to write.

Im so happy you stopped by for a comment:)
        You are awesome!

    • Why thank you:)
When you get that eureka moment you gotta write it down before it vanishes!
I’m so happy you enjoyed our write.

      Thanks for commenting!

    • You guys are like the dynamic duo of poetry, tight work Lady

      • Awww. Thanks Meme. We are very in-tuned with each other.
Even when we are far away.

Your comment also reminded me of a show I would watch when I was a kid!
The Wonder Twins! Do you remember the cartoon?
They wore purple spandex and would activate their powers with a fist pump. Hahahaha

Thanks for your snaps on this!
        Woop Woop!

    • This is so sweet and I love the back and forth. It worked well. You can see the conversation between the two of you. Very nice collaboration.

    • I love this:). Thanks for collaborating with me sweetie.

I also got to give a shout out to Crimsin since she inspired me to try something related to the desert:)

    • Thank you, Damian. Her and I have a remarkable amount in common. And thankfully our creative writing is what ultimately got us together. That is a huge reward!

    • hello the both of you this is true love what it feels like what it looks like… so much passion time nor place can part just beautiful ❤️

      • Aww thank you! She is an incredible woman. I get motivated just seeing her.
Actually, hers and my humor and witty banter made everything so easy for us. very comfortable from the beginning. We get along really well. Writing is the spark, but her and I maintain the fire.

    • You guys are like the dynamic duo of poetry, tight work dude

    • Oh, we are pretty dynamic in a few ways! Thanks though, because it was writing that got us together. It was the crazy humor that snagged us! LOL

    • The ebb and flow of this collab is beautifully harmonious!
