    Ghost In The Candlelight

Only in candlelight can I see you. Only then can I lay eyes on your perfect form. Only then can the glinting emeralds in your eyes cast their spell on me. Only by the candle flame can I hear...

    • There’s a spiritual side to this I think you caught. Really creative writing here. Nice job!

    • Das ist wirklich ein Meisterwerk, Daniel!
Like Tim, I appreciate the spiritual side of your writing. I understand the candlelight as a metaphor for our own inner light. The light in our hearts allows us to see other persons like they really are, beyond their appearance, social roles or status symbols. Brilliant!

        Thank you so much, Elke!

    • hi dearest Benny enjoy your swim let the rest go stay in the moment great write 💕

    • A great write, for a rhyming one at that. I actually left work early to rush home and complete a poem that I was scrapping together at work. And then I went to the (community) pool! A productive day, lol.
Your write is well stocked with reflection and insight. I enjoyed it very much.

      • Thanks Styx for the comment.
        I’m glad you enjoyed it.
It’s a whimsical piece but says enough about the journey I and many others are on.
        🙏

    • I really enjoyed reading this.
      The first verse was immense.
      Kind regards
      James

    • If only we could all remember that particularly when it comes to refugees. They were called immigrants once upon a time.

      Good write 👍

      • Thanks for reading
Yes I agree. America is a nation of immigrants. The founding fathers were descendants of immigrants.

Even the native American peoples immigrated across the frozen seas of the north pole.

        Regards James

    • There are those who do not accept that they are immigrants and try their best to fit in and hide. This piece can definitely start a conversation. Nice

      • Thanks for reading.
We have a man called Nigel Farage in the UK.
He is the face of anti immigration and he is the grandson of a German immigrant to the UK.
I hope to clarify with this simple statement.

        Regards James

    Disintegration

Too often have those shocking, fatalistic images haunted me;too often have I been forced to confront the unimaginable;emotions flung aside while practicality rode out each storm. Now, the thoughts of those could-have-beens and might-still-bestwist and turn on themselves, bending my mind...

    • This is very good.

    • So well written. This is one of you best. and I remember the pencil writing years, so unsure what to keep and what to change.
It’s good to see and read you here.

    • Powerfully penned, Ellie. Into the book it belongs! This is an amazing write, thanks so much for sharing. Appreciate you.

    • I would have been terrible with the ink and quill. I probably edit everything 5 times (maybe more) and then post and edit more. Nice touch with the
Mobius strip! Haven’t that in awhile! What ifs are horrible? I have deep regrets both of what I have and haven’t done. Doing stuff tomorrow is just…bullshit. Excuses. Excellent piece.

    • I love that closing stanza, I’ve often thought something similar, solidifying those feelings in ink can be haunting.
      Great work.
