    The Whisky shot

Okay, Renee, The next shot is the whiskey shot. And I’m telling you, I’m feeling the waves of danger rolling off him over here.” Elene said. Looking over her shoulder at him.“ Your feeling the waves?” I said, smiling...

    • Beautifully penned, Fia. Sorry, it took me a bit to get to read this. Excellent storytelling my friend, you are truly amazing, cuz. Appreciate you.

    • Fia, this is series had my eyes held by the gravity of your dialogue that was as riveting as the Red Shoe Diaries tales. Just great story telling dialogue at it finest. And just love how you took me striaght into the biker character and the reporter’s dance of words with him that ended on that fabulous encounter. Great work here.Enjoyed much.

      • The Red Show Diaries? Is that on Amazon?

        • Actually Red Shoe Diaries came out maybe thirty or more years ago. It was a series of erotic shows that were very tasteful and starred David Duckovny (sp?). He narrated it though mostly it was about other people. Not sure where you’d find it to watch now. I saw some of them on DVD that I rented from a video store.

        • Maybe netflix would have them? Not sure.

    Changes

A leaf, slowly quietly fell. Was it orange or red?I couldn't tell. Perhaps it was a leaf in a fairytale. As it watched the protagonist grow. And other leaves begin to fall. Personalities begin to grow.As the leaves slowly fell. There is a story everyone tell. Of...

    • The life of a leaf. Wonderful personification in this, and nice analogy for how life is for a human…except the only tree we fall off of is our family tree…..At times, I got pushed off of mine….but somehow this leaf got off the ground and found another spot in the tree.

    • Very much please indeed. Such fun to read your clever and lighthearted slice of the morning.
Happy me to have connected. Be well Emma 🙂

    • Many thanks Jim.. wrote that whilst still asleep – probably shows! However being an admitted scribbler I go with the flow.

    • Joy,
From what I know, this sounds like you, your life, your time, your place… all of it full of quiet beauty…

    • Like a film noir movie this has the effects of heartbreak and loneliness with a touch of moral ambiguity. I can feel the barren parts of life all over it. Good one, J.

    • I wholeheartedly agree with Tim. This does have a film noir ambiance to it. Were you by any chance wearing a trench coat and a low brimmed fedora while writing it? Lol, so good to have your presence here, J. Like you never missed a beat!

      • Thank you, Kelly….I had the trench coat on but couldn’t find my fedora.
Thanks, it is good to be on this site….I have decided this is my choice now.

So many of us from WC migrated here.

    • Reminds me of all those movies about city angst. (I am suppressing a rant about how much I hate New York), and all it’s denizens… I can see them now walking down seedy sidewalks in the rain, their furthest horizon in easy walking distance. Beautiful imagery sir, and a nice reminder of how happy I am in a town with only about twelve occupied houses.

      • Interesting what you said. I was from the Bronx, originally and by the time we left…I was so ready for a new place to live.
Guess I was NOT a city boy even though I was born there.
I appreciate this review. We lived in a five-story high rise on the fifth floor. NO elevator so it was a trek every time.

Thanks again, just hope you don’t hate me…ha ha.

        j.
