    A Mother's Hug Goodnight

Frigid, calm front hides in northern winds, vast sky of my bedroom dims. Stream in wintericed over, mother's embraceletting go at bedtime. Still rainfall, sky's dark pillows, eyelids become anchors, smothering. The cold frontblanketing these damp lids, peacefully covers the coming storm.

    • Powerfully penned, Daniel. You were a great writer then as well my friend. Twenty years ago huh? My high school days seem like a million summers ago. Appreciate you.

    • My mother was the opposite of this. Now though, she’s a different person. You have an exquisite way of expressing yourself, Daniel

    Live On

Something has died within me. Something like the soul,  yet my body lives on.   Something has occupied the void. And I know not what it could be! But it feels elegantly poetic!   It may be what saves my life. And may be what drives me to...

    Time

Stand up for me  as I have stood up for you. Time has already been lost, so let it go and live in the moment.    When a person needs to change, they must know it to do it. They must quell what anchors them with fear...

    • I agree with this. Closer we come to death, the more memories are reminders. Nice

    • Powerfully penned, Daniel. This is an incredible write my friend. When confronted with mortality most people analyze how they got where they are, afraid of losing memories, or becoming ill, or even death. Most fear losing their identity or remembering who or how they were. It gives me chills just talking about it, because it’s unimaginable in my head. Sorry for rambling my friend. This is a write that makes me think, thanks so much for sharing. Now I will ponder more by myself. Appreciate you.
