    • Powerfully penned, Drieks. Into the book it belongs! Excellent lyrics my friend, your work is so authentic and direct. I’m truly a fan, good musical choice as well. The piano added the proper element to your words. Nicely done per usual. Appreciate you.

      • Thank you Damian. I always love reading your thoughts on my work. Appreciate you!

    • I love a good piano song. This feels very intimate and un-rushed.
It has a great tempo too. There are not a lot of distractions either. Just a voice and a piano.
      Just wonderful:)

    • Adelphina was raving about this to me earlier, so I had to check it out. And it’s really good! Not syrupy or overdone. It’s catchy and very entertaining. Awesome job with it.

      • Thank you for your kind words Styxian. I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed it!

    • Drieks, I smiled the whole way through listening to this. This was sad but catchy.

    • I man…damn. This is incredibly well done!

    • Thank you so much for your kind words!
If only it was my own voice… Can’t take credit for that.

    • We’ve kept up wit your musical success through mutual friends, and we’re truly happy for you. You’re not only creating great poetry but also great songs. Tight

    • Great song. I loved the piano and the strength of the vocals. Well done!

    • Wow. Just wow! Another incredible piece. You are doing marvelous work, my friend. This is truly outstanding. Beautiful words, lovely music and all of it rendered with class. I am so glad that HER said I must talk to you. I would very much like to do that.

    Amethyst Sea

I floated in stillness--cradled by an amethyst sea, golden light bloomingacross sapphire waves of violet flame. The sky stretched wide in bronze and rose, scarlet clouds suspended mid-air,their edges sharp against deep indigo. The weight of the world lifted,as heaven painted the skiesin...

    • Amethyst is one of my favorite colors.
This is a very soothing read.
Like reading lavender, if that makes sense 🙂
      Beautifully done:)

      • Thank you! I’ve been having this recurring dream of an amethyst sea, and reflecting on it gives me such inner peace. Now I even own many amethyst gemstones. Adelphina, your words about it being soothing really resonate. I love swimming just as the sun is setting.

It’s such an ethereal experience. The water feels as warm as the sunset, and the sky’s colors are breathtaking. Perhaps that’s why I dream of this sea, and I’m happy I was able to capture this experience in Amethyst Sea. I’m so glad it came across that way!

    • Beautifully penned, Roma. A very colorful write my friend with stellar imagery. Appreciate you.

    • Thank you so much, Damian! I really appreciate you noticing the imagery and color– those beach sunsets here on the island, where I live are my biggest inspiration. Appreciate you too, friend!

    Resist Being Blind

    • Right on, man. Such an inspiring write! Addiction is very much like a ghost, haunting each moment of our lives. I am so happy you were able to push through and maintain. If you ever had any doubt, this poem is proof, that you absolutely do not need alcohol to conjure beauty and meaning on the page.

The last two lines in the third octet scream truth in my mind. Very, very wise.

      Clay

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Clay. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I’ve found out I never needed alcohol to write, it was the addiction that had planted that seed of doubt in my head. It is a ghost always lurking in the shadows, though I’ve always seen it as a personal demon waiting to pounce. Appreciate you.

    • Stay true to yourself and keep on pushing forward. Rock on dude!! Great piece of poetry

    • I love the honesty in this. What a purge of the soul amigo!
This has so much in it. It had its own evolution.
      Just terrific!

    • “My pen became a sword
      poetry served as pseudo armor”

Amazing how many of us are among this army. Accepting help is so hard. Especially if you’ve rarely been offered a hand. And we’re all kinda programmed to ‘suck it up’…like being human is a weakness. Stripped raw & flushing the wounds here, brutal honesty at its finest, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Love those lines as well. We are programmed that way, and it makes it difficult to rewire the mind. It’s still a work in progress, but it gets a little easier each passing day. Always enjoy your commentary my friend. Appreciate you.

    • This poem is raw, honest, and deeply moving. Knowing you wrote it just months into your sobriety makes it even more powerful –your pen becomes both sword and shield, guiding you from darkness to hope. A beautiful testament to resilience and the strength of new beginnings.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Roma. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It was cold turkey, and past overdue. Although it was my fourth attempt at getting sober, the third time was not a charm. lol. Thank you for your continued support, and wonderful commentary. Appreciate you.
