Dear D,
This piece brings in memories of writing letters, buying actual record albums, listening to the radio on an actual radio. I greatly appreciated the thought process in this write and the subtle warning to be aware of things lurking about. Terrific write. H🌷

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, H. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Those are some pretty terrific memories you listed, sometimes that world seems a million miles away, especially for those who lived it and try to keep it alive in our words. I always enjoy your commentary and your continued support my friend. Appreciate you.

Dreams are casting doubt once again
It sometimes seems it’s so deliberate
Like a stiff jab landing across the chinFantastic, absolutely fantastic.

I walked through this one like the aisles of record stores, and frantically scribbling in my spiral bound notebooks, and trying to survive in a world full of so much that sorting it out became impossible…so we just chose live in the music and the words. The conversations that felt monumental then…come back today and feel even more incredibly relevant. But we hadn’t thought of them in years. Like the binding of time through word and thought. So hard to feel those moments in a time like now, when everything is fake news and nothing can be trusted. You took me on a journey here, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Oh, the aisles of the record stores. That’s a sweet memory from the past. Talking music brings people together I’ve always believed that. That’s some incredible commentary dearest friend, you’ve been missed around here. Warms my heart to see you wandering the halls again. Glad I could take you on a journey.. Appreciate you.

Cleverly penned, Fia. Excellent write as always my friend. Dig the Shakespeare vibe, also I’ve always thought you’re amazing at writing dialogue. Nicely done. Appreciate you, Cuz.

I like new concept poetry & love the fact it is possible to listen to the words although I note this is not your voice Fia .. still it kind of fits with my idea of Romeo’s voice ..
-
All is lost for poor Romeo and he’s doomed to a lonely darkness, then… the clouds break, the sun shines again, and all is well. I love happy endings. Hopefully, it will last.

Now that’s a woman who knows her worth and isn’t afraid to state it and stand by it. There’s nothing weak about it, fierce is what this declaration is. But cleverly worded and leaving just enough to the imagination that he still has plenty of work to do.

The Silence of Words
April 30th, last day of
Poetry Month, arrives
with showers, grey skies,
and sadness. Fitting I
suppose referring to
the old saying, ‘April showers,
May flowers’, those Springtime
colors designed to bring joy,
happiness, and the feeling of
self-worth, of being whole
and seen, alive in wonder.
Instead, this day…Read More-
I’ve found that more often than not, people translate words through whatever filter they’re currently struggling with. It may not have anything to do with us even. But our words have impact, not always how we meant them, and their responses have an equal impact. Words are powerful and because of that, can be dangerous. Even if unintended. I feel this one

Hi Willow, I really appreciate your comment on this poem. I think your are right about the ‘filter’ of how words land with someone. It’s hard at times, even in real, face to face conversation, but here or on any social media website, it’s even harder. And yes, words are powerful and dangerous. It’s one reason I think, that we write poetry. Thank…Read More
