    • Happy Easter Richard. This has a nice flow to it.

      • Thank you, Fia, most humbly and gratefully 🙏
It is so nice to receive your words of praise.

Happy Easter Salutations in return to You! ⁓ Richard 🌾

    • so beautiful dearest poet I wrote about Easter and God’s doing for Napowrio this morning great write ❤️Happy Easter…

      • With warmest thanks, Dear Crimsin 🥀
It is joyful knowing you’ve also written a piece for Easter … and, your compliment is inspiring, too.

With Happy Easter Blessings! ⁓ Richard 🌾

    • The image of the empty tomb isn’t stark or hollow to me; it feels full, like something unseen has taken its place and filled the space with meaning. What lingers is a soft, grounded certainty that life moves forward, and that forward motion carries a quiet kind of joy. Thank you for this read. Brilliantly written, Richard.

    • Beautifully penned, Richard. An amazing Easter write my friend. Amen. Thanks for sharing this one. Appreciate you.

    • Church and state should stay separate…It’s not though. Good piece

    • Happy Easter dearest Poet it was really a pagan fertility rite called Ishtar…Nature is where I go to find God…this is well said ❤️

    • I talk to my dog

      Dog is God
      God is Dog

    • Cleverly penned, Speak. As always you deliver my friend. They should always be separate indeed, unfortunately it seems some claim didn’t get the memo. Excellent write. Nicely done. Appreciate you.

      • Some people need religion.
        Something mightier to believe in.
        We have poetry
        Maybe that’s enough ?

        Thx D

    • Hello Gary. I agree with your poem & statement. To the point and you always nail it! Maybe to a cross!!

    • I’ve always said I’d like believe but I’m to pragmatic or stubborn or I don’t like Kool Aid …

    • Dear PS,

I can always count on a particular dynamic in your poems that lay bare life at its core. And I always appreciate that because it’s raw and always truthful. Long live pragmatism. H🌷

    • Dear H,

My father was pragmatic and I guess I inherited that trait from him.
Religion is a something you grow up with or not. I had a religion but I’ve chosen to segregate the good from the allegory. The good part is spiritual and the rest for me is a pragmatic look at the people around me and what we share.

It’s so good to see you H.
I don’t come here often but every so often I need a place to put stuff.

You found me, I’m saved !!!

      💕

    • Totally agree with your stance on religion. But it’s the relationship I see in your poem that makes me dig it. You have a way of saying a lot in a very sideways way. When you can talk religion with someone and then sit in a comfortable silence… that’s gold.
So great to read your writing.
      ❤️k

    • I’m really glad to see your comment on this entry. Writing it reminded me of our DUP years. When our community would come together and you could write something like this without reprisals…

      Appreciate you Red

You make me want to write more …

      ❤️

    Still Me

Let me introduce myself. I’m Lizz.   Not a brand. Not a filtered highlight. Not a polished biography written for someone else’s approval.   Just Beth.   Friendly in a world that rewards cold. Easy-going in rooms thick with ego. Kind when it would be easier to harden. Patient when storms test...

    • Well, you have laid it all out and if anyone had any questions, they need to read this again. Nicely put.

    • Unapologetically penned, Lizz. This is a powerful and honest write my friend. We all have ups and downs in our journey as writers, taking accountability and living to tell the story is what keeps us putting pen to paper. That’s just my opinion though. Excellent work here. Appreciate you.

    • Very cool. It places you in front of a crowd, that you are not fearful of. I enjoy self-empowering writes. it isn’t egotistical, it’s affirmation of your worth. Well done.

    • It’s plain to see you’re a serious and articulate writer. You’re able to express yourself astutely and with no reserves. I envy your unapologetic courage. Great write here.

    • Thanks. I’ve been writing as a young teen, and as a teen I had no one to talk to, to express myself so I turned to poetry it was the only way for me to get things out. Though through time I’ve become better at my poetry. And I keep it as real as possible.

  • Sorry??

What does the word even mean
An apology that is supposed to be given when felt
The word does not erase the feelings
    That absolute absurdity of it

As a child you were made to say your sorry
Looking in that same child’s eyes
There is not an ounce of remorse
    Confusion
    Anger

    • A ‘sorry’ like this is nothing more than the ego trip to make whoever said it feel good about themselves and nothing to do with changing what they have done. To be truly sorry, takes action, means changing attitude, behavior, and not doing whatever they have done again. A good poem for day #5 of poetry month, Fia. -Curt
