    Teahouse Conversation

'You're way too pessimistic, Yersinia!'  the young woman with the cheeky red dyed short haircut exclaimed and took a sip of her tea glass. The Oriental beauty sitting opposite to her at a table for two in a small tea...

    • Powerfully penned, Elke. A very clever write my friend, it kinda shows that humans never seem to learn. Excellent work, with a great message. Appreciate you.

    • Interesting take on pandemics. They certainly were not handled very well, but the vaccine for the modern one was was handed out fairly, in general. It was new territory so mistakes were made. I got all my shots and am glad of it. I do agree that there were too many restrictions put on the public at least here in the US.
This piece really made me feel like I was sitting there with the two ‘women’. You certainly have a talented pen Elke. To be transported to the moment you describe is really a rare and wonderful talent. I’m happy the you share it with us. I’d be happy to slip and fall in your direction. 😉 💙

      • Your appreciation and encouragement made my day, dear Jim! 1001 times thank you!
Of course I exaggerated in my writing but anyway, I think that every crisis comes along with a learning task. I’m afraid, concerning the Corona pandemic humankind has failed the test.

    • You are a very good storyteller. To board people in their own homes to prevent the spread …yeah history did repeat itself with that. The difference is that people spoke online and got used to that, then speaking face to face. Thought-provoking piece.

      • Thank you so much for your kind and supportive comment dear Fià! There are even more parallels: in times of the plague, many people tried to overcome their helplessness and desperation by celebrating hilariously on graveyards and other scary places. On these occasions people used to wear facial masks!

    • That atmosphere is peaceful with a bit of loneliness to it. Nice spill.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Fia. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I try, this was just one that kinda wrote its self. Appreciate you.

        • The way you describe your drink sounds like you are praising a beloved woman, her beauty, her character and attitude. And it seems like there are many parallels: in its velvety Amber colour consistence bourbon can have a soothing impact, It Doesn’t Ask unwelcome questions, it is simply there and understands …
A powerful and thought provoking writing that is as meaningful and important as it was 10 years ago. Brilliant, dear Damien!

          • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Elke. So glad you connected with the write my friend. You’re so spot on. Thanks for your continued support. Appreciate you.

    • This feels of a good moment. Though too much of a good thing can lead to trouble. Damn those demons. Great ink.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Nick. So glad you connected with the write my friend. They’re everywhere, hiding in the minute details. Appreciate you.

    • Happy (early) birthday toast incoming! July 18 deserves a proper celebration—with Bourbon’s smoky charm and Vodka’s crisp fire clinking together in style. Here’s to bold beginnings, blurry stories, and the kind of laughter that lingers longer than the hangover.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, PAR. So glad you connected with the write my friend. You always find a way to make me smile. Thank you for being you and your continued support. Appreciate you.

    • Ahhh, Damian! 🥃

Nothin’s like sippin’ choice bourbon with a friend (on the rocks w/a splash-a bitters), sharing a tale or two with laughter in the air.

A feel good write that lifted an olde bard’s spirits ‘n brought a fond smile for moments past.
A lovely week ahead to ya, Syr Poet! ⁓ Rascal🖌

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Rascal. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Ah, the old days. I too loved stories over drinks. I still tell some stories, just don’t drink anymore. I wasn’t very good with moderation, only so many drinks on the old punch card. lol. Appreciate you.

    • Love this. I’m a great fan of double meanings, work that makes you think deeper than what’s implied on the surface. Awesome!

  • The value of mortality.

If given the choice between terminal cancer or immortalality, I would choose cancer everytime. Imagine waking up every day for ever and having to make the bed,do the washing, get the groceries, tend to family,go to work....sounds like hell to me. I'll take...

    • I think of immortality from another side of what you’re saying. If you’re immortal but only you…imagine constantly being around to witness the fall of everyone you know & care about? No thank you. I’m with you on this one
