    Trying

The funny thing about trying is that you have to attempt it attempt to get up attempt to have a purpose and attempt to try to make the day doable I tried and succeeded to get up before the alarm I got my clothes on put...

    • keep trying ..

    • This is kinda where my mind has been lately. I recently took a lower paying, more physically demanding job just to access these very feelings. I just wanted feel what real living is like again. You’ll only get what you give, and many of us have to give a lot more just to get a little, but these are the conditions that shape the poet. Keep trying, and keep in mind that more people see you than you realize! Life is hard fkn work! But I know you know this, because you are a poet!!

    • Thankfully you, we all, have access to let it all out in writing. That is our strongest voice. God knows that creative writing really helped me become who I am. I still have a vocal glitch, that hits me whenever it wants, but it isn’t a handicap. I have learned to be confident regardless. Writing gives us a super power. You will win the battles Fia.
      Awesome write.

    • Powerfully penned, Fia. Another excellent write with many deep layers my friend. This one has a musing vibe while turbulence is stirring beneath the surface. I concur with Mark. Amazing read as always. Appreciate you, Cuz.

    • Thank you for this encouraging writing, dear Fia!
Settling with what you have already achieved, means standing still. But trying again and again, getting up after falling and trying anew is a brave way of progress and self development. Only doing so you can reach out for the stars!

  • age of reason

When human minds begin to fray And souls forget their tune  The ones who stand apart and judge Believe they're still immune. But we're all so bloody fragile, Our thoughts can lose their form; No soul beneath the turning sky Can shelter from that storm. Each person...

    • Hi Peter

      How are you?
You expressed so much in few lines.

      Jessy Jacob

      • I’m fine and thanks for asking.
This poem was prompted by a newspaper article about a woman who changed completely after menopause…..we are very fragile.
        🙏

    • It’s the ones who insist they’re fine when clearly they’re not that scare me. We humas are very fragile indeed

    • Well you’re right! And sometimes we think we know them, until we realize that we don’t. The mind is each of our own little universe, it’s so vast. Some people get off track along the way.

    • Powerfully penned, Peter. Another excellent write with lots of layers my friend. No one is immune to time and the effects it has on the mind. Thanks for sharing. Amazing read as always. Appreciate you.

    • I had to read this twice… the first was in the dark… then I switched on the light and read it again… wow .. you always make things difficulty amazing… your writing is just just… amazing… and you make me forget words… I only remember amazing

    • Thank you so much for your kind comment, Sam. I have released a book book (a book that lends itself to being read in the old style by the hearth of a cosy fire, flicking pages as opposed to flicking ebook screens): Hearts & Minds written from a male perspective by Daniel Furl. Unbelievably, for me, you, us writers, I’m venturing out of my shell, selling the book (others, too) at leisure centres and village craft markets! The opening part, Trains, has railway-mad Daniel, aged 10 narrating his early life, spotting trains. It leads into Chasing Trains, mysterious and dark! The perfect fit. I’ll message you about posting the cover here, I’ll donate! Harriet-Jacqui xx

  • I get so much
    Satisfaction washing
    God’s people’s feet
    Also when I teach
    The bible to God’s
    People they become
    Hungry for the bible
    It was God that wrote
    The bible
    With his holy hands
    A long time ago
