Brilliantly penned, Thomas. I’m getting beat-poet vibes, could just be me though. Fantastic write my friend. Appreciate you.

Poppies, Sails ’n Dreams
O’er Gulf of Maine’s blue, a gull soars high ’n free …
poppy blessed Isles of Shoals scattered far below.
As a sail-rigged skiff slips silently alee,
days-of-yore dreams through my voyager’s soul flow.Richard Jenkins

First, the way you displayed the piece is beautiful. Every stanza starts off with asking to be allowed to bring her closer to you.
This is just perfect-
A good Wednesday morning to ya, Fia 🌼
It is sooo nice to begin the day with such inspiring words from a knowing poetess’ radiantly heart-gifted pen.
To receive commentary so warmly laid (as Yours) upon one of my earnest poetic efforts means more than mere thanks … you make me wish I had an endless supply of stardust to sprinkle over every grim moment of all your days and nights. And, you seem to possess a gift of grasping the true essence of my poetry; rare few do … and, it makes me feel special.
Then, I am truly humbled you think this piece is “perfect” … thank you, Fia ⁓ Rascal🖌

Wooo-wee! A hot and steamy piece, Richard. Have you written any romance books or stories for women’s magazines? You would fit right in, though I truly know little about their content; I must use my imagination.
I love the way you constructed this piece and then built the narrative in a way that fit within, words dropping into place cozily. You have quite a gift for the steamy side, and all of it fits neatly in the structures you built, like tiny tornados funneling your words and meaning down to rest in the final point. Excellent.
