Powerful piece. It’s always important to know history and seeing how that turned out. I think after this administration is done, we’ll have trials and there we’ll find out more of the evil that men/women did. My heart goes out to those broken families and protesters voicing for the voiceless.

I love the idea of this, the imagery. The whole gnome part almost, but not quite, adds a whimsy to it. Yet the despair overcomes that brief slide towards “not so bad”. The ending is perfect. The whole write is great stuff.
