    NAUGHT(Y)

a gentleness - yet wild at timeswhen you come passing nearthe days shine bright, the sunis warm, your voice is soft an' dear a boyish charm, a whistling callof pipe an' heart-made drum, the art of music skips my feetyours, whistling - best...

    • Music always skips my feet as does your beautiful poetry, my friend.

    • You can read me like a book, hj furl! Will willingly take your words and wear them as a medal or few! How d’you do!

    • I love the ancient feel to this. A poem with a naughty overtone but almost theatrical too. I like it and the way the words flow like a song.

      • Tim, you’ve left me words that make me smile, there’s nothing better than that, sir; ‘ancient’ I really like – as yet not into the modern but will get there, one day.

    • Nice quiet old worldly charm about this one.💋

    • ‘Ere thrice the sun done salutation to the dawn’ and more. This made my bookshelf and me smile. I’m Welsh first, British second, but we must never forget the language of yore. The quill is mighty.

      • You might well be related to Dylan, your words echo and most certainly never forget the ‘language of yore’. Silence listens to the past and – usually nods in agreement. Thank for visiting.

        • To be candid, Dylan turned his back on his Welshness and so we look to his name sake RS Thomas as our nation laureate. I am so proud to say I am one of the few Welsh writers scribbling in English. My Dad was English. Sorry to bore you.

    • A very beautiful and tender poem, dear Emma! It makes me feel like a full moon night spent in raw wild nature…

    • What a wonderfully worded review, thank you and thank you again. Be happy, my friend.

    • Beautifully penned, Emma. Love the flow and your delivery. Excellent write my friend. Appreciate you.

    • My word, this takes one back a bit .. those days of yore were summat else .. weren’t they .. so very nicely poemed. Neville

    AS WELL IT SHOULD

There is a bug crawling on my screen... not even a millimeter long. Just think about this little spark of life with all those desires for food and safety and sex... It has six tiny legs, and knees, and ankles,...

    • That teeny bug has been noticed by a man with imagination and humanity – what a delightful display of both, sir!

      • Em,
        Hey you!!!
Aw, thank you… now my day is made!!! This is such an easy thing, weird how it got so tangled…. Would go back to WC if they fixed it… how about you?

    • Well, I never went into that deep a thought about an insect that small. Very cool that you made me think about it.

    • Takes a gentle mind to notice what so many ignore or don’t even notice. Charming words, sir Vol.

Hello, Vol – So good to see you, thought you’d gone walk-about. No way of contacting you other than here and our time just don’t coincide, sadly. Feel free to say hi or something when you can, sir. Take care.

    • Lol, dear Vol, you and I must be on the same wavelength these days. Just the other day, I watched as an ant crawled on the ledge of my window sill. My impulse was to obliterate him, but then… I started writing a poem about him and his followers. Not to spoil it here, though. I will post it in due time. Meanwhile, I must say, I love seeing this compassionate man inside the poet. You could have squashed him, but decided to allow his itty bitty life to have purpose. My hero!!
