I caught a bad case of covid last week! It kicked my ass! It went through my work and got a few of us. I’m all better now!

This poem is a vivid, honest look at desire – full of passion but also quiet vulnerability. The contrast between the “neon God” and “bluebirds” is striking and memorable.

I feel these words. They are otherworldly, uttered from another world beyond the one we inhabit.
Kind regards
James

I like how the poem moves beautifully from quiet whispers to a bold, sensual crescendo. The shift from the quiet “loneliness of lips” to the sudden, overwhelming urgency of the final lines is brilliant. I never would have thought to describe the moon as “slut coloured red” -that vivid, daring language perfectly captures the poem’s alive energy.

The imagery of drowning in a smile and being a thousand kisses deep perfectly captures the feeling of being completely swept away by someone. Great write.

Hi Tim! I never really thanked you for being the first to tell me about “Stars Rite”. I checked it out because of you and Sam. I’ll always remember the kindness. Thank you!

My pleasure, Kelly. My time at WC is basically over so it’s good to see you and other friends from there on here. If I pop in to WC it’s probably to grab a few poems. 🙂

Charlie was there yesterday. The “online writer’s” feature had his face in the place. Lol, I guess he gave it a reboot, because it’s all up and running again. You should go back and get while the getting is good!

Thank you so much, Fia. I was surprised to find you’ve been a writer at the WC for some time, that our paths have never crossed till now. I find it comforting to know, as a moderator yourself, that you are also a poet, and fully understand the significance of having such a venue like this to call home. My poetry is my haven, my passion in life. Thank you for giving me a safe place to land.
