    Guinevere

At dawn, you saddle up your horse, release the hounds and set your coursebeyond the daunting castle gatethrough which I fled by my escape. Across the meadow, hills, and creeks, your hungry howling canines streakwith steamy breath, with eyes hell-bent.They pause when...

    • Yeah, I like to wake up with a shaft inside me… but not one of these.

    • Stellar writing…
The weaving of words is simply amazing.

      • I’m glad you like it, Drieks! Your comments are awesome! Thanks for reading.
        xoxoxo

    • You make me smile!
      xoxo

    • Powerful work. Vivid and sharp.

    • Brilliantly penned, DK. You’ve got mad skills my friend, with the pen of course. Clarification is important sometimes. lol. Incredible write. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • I’m so glad you think my skills are ‘mad’, Damian. No clarification necessary! Thanks for reading and following me!

    • Mmmm…the gift and the curse maybe?
      This vibe was very imaginative!!
      Tight!!

    • Oh shit…
      Thanks for telling me.
No wonder nobody knows what the hell I’m talking bout.

    • Idk how this poem slipped out of my radar, but I am glad to catch up and “hunt” few of your poems.

They say a good writing is a writing which makes you feel the want to fuck, destroy and create something all at once. I guess I am having that feeling again!

      • I’ve never heard that before, but I’m glad to bring you there!
I like the concept of being ‘hunted’ because it metaphorically represents what happens all the time in reality. The tricky part, from a girl’s perspective, is getting the right person to hunt you and avoiding the wrong ‘predator’.

        Thanks for reading!
        xoxo

    • Powerfully penned, Nick. Aren’t head games fun? Been there my friend. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Yeah, been there more than a few time. Thanks for the read. much appreciated.

    • Well thankfully I don’t have this problem. Not that I haven’t had this problem before, and more times than I’d like to admit haha. I wrote this after a coworker of mine was telling me he hadn’t had sex in two years, and the women he tries to get with seem to string him along. Kinda reminded me of when I would have a crush, and just some women would love to keep you at a distance.

BTW: I don’t have a cleaning lady. I’m actually not that rich lol.

    • The artistry in this is exquisite. It almost has the feel of a dance floor with lights swirling over a sea of color, spotlighting just 2…emphasis on her. Beautiful, Naaj

    • So glad you dropped in, hun.
This write was something personal and long overdue.
      Thank you

      Naaj

    • Beautifully penned, Naaj. An incredible tribute, amazing imagery and wordplay my friend. Sorry for your loss, brother. Much respect. Appreciate you.

      • Huge thx for your thoughts on this vibe, bro.
Yeah…this one hit different for obvious reasons.

    • Reminds me of the saying “you’re only as good as your last hit”. Not really sure why, but has that vibe of chasing a dream.

      Great ink

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Nick. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That saying is actually true to an extent. Whether it be a record company, or songwriting partner, they believe that to be the case. It’s a crazy world. Appreciate you.

    • Makes me wonder what happened & where he went in his mind. Watching someone whose clock is ticking on self-destruct mode is rough. Friendships always seem to be the first casualties. Sounds like he choose something not real over value, in my opinion, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with write my friend. In the end it was all about him. He only came to me when help was needed where his bandmates couldn’t help. What changed the most was even in those moments when I would help, he questioned every idea. Then would take something he liked I said, and totally reword it into his lines. That may sound petty on it’s face on my part, but it wasn’t like that until the last 6 months we were friends. It was like he doubted me for some reason. I mean all I did was get sober, while he remained on the sauce. Go figure. lol. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • Best line: funneling booze into a hemorrhaging mind…

      Great work as always Damian!

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Daniel. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I loved that line a lot as well. Appreciate you.

    • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Mary. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It was for the best I guess, he’s still doing the same thing last I heard. Meanwhile, I got a whole creative family/community first at DU then here at SR. I host, Backstage, and SpotLight. And I’m writing again, I think I did alright on my own. Appreciate you.

      Damian

    • Always a joy reading your writes. Sadly, friendships usually don’t last forever. Great write my friend.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Keith. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That they don’t, it’s kinda sad when you really think about that little footnote you just mentioned. Appreciate you.
