    At Twenty-five (For Janis Ian)

At Twenty-five (For Janis Ian)Listening to Janis Ian's AT SEVENTEEN, I wondered  where the girl in the song would be and how she would feel just a few years later?  So, I wrote...AT TWENTY-FIVE (Dedicated to Janis Ian)It was long...

      Hope this finds you well?

I’ve been reading your writes with very much pleasure.
Even our musical tastes seem to have parallels.
The first Verve and Capitol LP’s by Janis Ian are still proudly in my cupboard and on my record player.
If you want to have the Janis Joplin recordings in Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, please let me know.

I’ll PM you for the rest.

Please keep those writes of yours coming.

      Kind regards, Gus

    • This is amazing. Love the lyrical poetry and the meaning behind it.

    • Lots of truth to this, but not all. I know the trophy wives. I had crushes on them in High school. Now their married to powerful men. Life is an odd thing sometimes.

My last comment for you. You’re very talented, good luck with your writing. 🙂

    • Every one of us has the power to heal & to harm within us. It’s which course we choose to follow that separates the healers from the rest. Beautiful, Brenda 🧡

      • hello lovely Willow this is true it is always my intent to make things nicer it doesn’t always go that way no matter what sometimes thank you for the love on this 💕

    • Even with faith we will still struggle. I guess pain is a part of life when it comes. For many, faith has its benefits and joys. For others it’s a fantasy made up by humans. I suppose our minds and how we think plays a big part.

      • my faith perhaps is not as strong as others though I do know God I struggle with suffering thank you for your thoughts 💕

    • Great write Brenda.
I now realise that pain is quite different from suffering. Most, if not all, our suffering arises in the mind…..
that’s also where peace hangs out.
      💋

      • hello dearest Benny my mind cause me to hurt with the way I perceive the world… I watch the news and ache with the pain of my brothers and sisters…there is an unrest in me that doesn’t understand such mind scarring events what is the nature of that? thank you for listening 💕

    • Powerfully penned, Brenda. Incredible write my friend. Appreciate you.

    • In this one, I can feel your disgust at women who say and do opposite things, annoyance about society, and how they don’t care about their bodies or other people by spreading STDs. And acceptance that this will never change.
      Interesting.

      • I’m not disgusted at women, but their whorish behavior in society today. They want respect and praise as a past traditional woman, but don’t know anything about being traditional. Also these boys who wanna be men, but are prioritizing their own personal bitch tendencies.

    The Rain Poems

    • hello dearest Tim I wonder besides rain what these poems have in them that weave them together there is something ominous I can sense… great write 💕

    • Ahhh! 🌧

What could be better, My Good Friend Tim, than a captivating soliloquy of imaginative Free Verse poetry from the rainbow of your dancing pen, creatively presenting the wonders of “Rain” to fill and soothe our parched imaginations.

Nice rhymes ‘n imagery in Poem 1, and your artwork choice sets the perfect mood.
I enjoyed each offering … particularly:

“For an hour, the sky recites
      poems from heaven
      and I listen…mesmerized.”

Outside my window, rain’s forecast today … I’m keeping my best umbrella and shiny red boots handy!
Good stuff, Syr Poet … much enjoyed, as usual! ⁓ Rascal🖌

      150/100

      • Haha, shiny red boots? Thank you Richard, your comments are always entertaining and interesting. It’s always good to know there’s a master of poetry around. 🙂

    • Quite a collection, Sir Tim.
Especially the woman in the window piece. Yet, the beginning obviously draws the reader in, with the vivid imagery. Well stocked stack of art, this.
And good to see you here.
