Summer Pleasure
Hard and supple it lies in my hand
Too big for my fingers to enclose
Giving off a delicious aroma of
Sun kissed strawberry fields and
Fiery spices at Oriental bazaars
Expectantly, my naughty tongue
Touches the tip, wandering around
In slowly widening circles
Until I wrap my lips around the top
Greedily sucking and licking
A firework of taste sensations
Explodes in my head
Creamy liquid drips from my lips
Full of satisfaction
I lick it up to the last drop
I don’t regret anything
I enjoyed this summer pleasure
I will do it again
Tomorrow I’ll get me another
Cone of my favorite ice cream

A succulent poem Sappho. The wording, the image and the entry into summer makes this poem a delicious treat. GREAT!!

I often wish I were an ice cream cone and even more so after reading this. Well done. 🙂
