The hands on the dial are at ten-ten
For the logo, to show a happy face
A “V” to show balance and symmetry
A perfect score or an aesthetic space
But then at the same time somewhere on earth
A woman gives birth to a little girl
At ten-ten somewhere else unknown to us
Cruelty is being unleashed in the world
At ten-ten – the timepiece marks a moment
When two people realize they’re in love
While somewhere else strangers meet and connect
Others set their eyes on the stars above
A father kisses his children goodnight
A homeless man remembers being warm
At ten-ten a girl receives a boy’s text
And elsewhere some seek shelter from a storm
At ten-ten a young man is reading books
A couple enjoys dinner with their friends
A toddler smiles seeing his mother’s face
A husband is trying to make amends
At ten-ten a teen goes to sleep and dream
A woman worries about paying rent
A poet just came up with a rhyme scheme
A waiter gets a tip that’s heaven sent
At a hospital doctors save a child
An old woman becomes lucid again
After years a long-lost son returns home
Somewhere around this big world at ten-ten
Two hearts beat at a fast and steady pace
At ten-ten lovers kiss for the first time
A man looks out from a high-rise window
And a climber sees there’s much more to climb
At ten-ten when everyone is living
Our room feels sorrow with great magnitude
But amongst us there’s also love and grace
My family expresses gratitude
While the world keeps turning and life goes on
We cry and say our goodbyes watching death
Because at ten-ten, time suddenly stopped
I witnessed my grandmother take her last breath
She was finally at peace, at ten-ten
