- My Grand mother – First teacher
- “Money” “Paise” “dabbu(telugu)”
My Grand mother, mother of my dad is a very strong woman with a smiling face and beautiful lady. They were of generation pre independence. They say they were around the Razakars time, the time ruled by Quthubshahi dynasty the Telangana region.
She is very strict and believed boy takes care of family and so she wanted boy for all her 10 children. My father was first born to her, I was the first born, and there was second boy, but he is no more at his 6 months he got surgery of stomach, he swallowed black beads on his hands. Doctors couldnt make him live. Then 2 sisters, and the fourth was my brother. He is almost 10 yrs younger to me. My grand mother insisted to have a boy so my mom got two more daughters and she prayed so much to have baby boy, finally God answered her prayer.
My grand mother raised her kids when my grand father passed away at his 10th child born. He got cancer and couldnt survive. She showered so much love though she wanted a boy. I used to make part time efforts for money, and it was big family.
She is still alive and being taken care of her kids.
My mother’s mother is tall and very beautiful woman, she is used to help in agriculture with my grand father. She was very hardworking.
They lived life in a simple way, with values. their love shows how much they care about grand kids.
How much we have in us the value it is more than money they give to grand kids and kids. I see there is more about patience they had in those days of no electricity and field work. they wear simple saree covering body nicely and work alot equally to men. And the food they prepare is delicious and i still their way of cooking.
They just put little sindhoor and wear cotton sarees. their makeup was nothing like Lakme.
Their shoes were normal chappal and full set of bangles, anklets earrings, and gold chains with mangals sutras.
They wake up at 5 am and sleep at 10pm. their routine is to cook food, get ready kids to school and then finish the home work or field work any.
They didnt study much and knowing numbers was their talent they doesnt know how to read telugu alphabets.
If we compare my generation i was little updated with education in english and little more makeup with dressing style changed instead of half saree i wore shalwar kameej.
But they are more stronger than me and bold who can speak to crowd. They raised 10 kids and for me with one kid mu back started hurting.
They had tattoos, second and third tops for ears. Now it is a fashion too many like tattoos and earrings with second and third tops.
