As the light plays tag across the morning dew
I look out the window and to the day’s possibilities
Now, if I can get from here to there
Deep breath, it’s not my fear that holds me
Not the wounds of yesterday
Thoughts going deep into my procrastination
Safe inside so that I can only imagine the breeze
Such an easy place to get what I want to attain
tell myself to get up, to go out the door
If I don’t, there will be no one else to blame
The sun meanders across the sky
No care if I go off to wander
The clock ticks, every moment chimes
I know! I know, it’s up to me
Either way I’ll lose my time
Take my hand, pull it across the water
Make a ripple, claim it
I can hear the drip of my infatuation
The kitchen beckons
One more cup of coffee
