depression casts a dim light
when tears fail to come
except in nighttime shadows
it is great sorrow my repressed thoughts come forward
no longer able to imagine they have purpose
dressing them in fancy clothes and calling them fantasy
when I feel sometimes suffering lacks purpose
toiling in time's narrow view
my truths becomes irrelevant
not magically shifting into wisdom
there seems to be a gap between knowledge and understanding
the more I know the less I get
exchanging innocence to be muddied by the world
feeling ignorant for holding hope and yet I still do

I connected with this piece having been at the mercy of the Black Dog before.
We suffer because we want things to be other than they are.In my opinion ‘hope’ can lead to suffering also.
Great writing💋

thank you dearest Damian for your understanding ❤️
It’s like taking those first steps into a larger view. The idea that not all truth is structurally available and contact with such structural truth constitutes an ontological threat, often resulting in grief, rage, self-doubt, lack of purpose. It is what modern philosophy might call an “epistemic instability”, the idea that when foundational beliefs are questioned, all others become suspect. The changes can be painful, but I like to think of this as the pain of growth. This is fortifying for the mind. Thought-provoking read, my friend.
thank you graciously dearest Benjamin I see it as forming a foundation to truly understand from not the preconceived views on absolutes such as good and evil…there are no absolutes and it is a very narrow mind that can’t look around at nature alone to get a better interpretation,,,, I appreciate you Ben ❤️
