Deathbeds of Roses

HomePoetryDeathbeds of Roses
Summary:
I turned my poem 'Arose' into a song! 🎵🎵 I hope you like it. You can listen to the song at the bottom of the page.

Florae reincarnated bliss
Petals lay where sun refused to ray
Stalking stems are lacking strength
Thorns bring crimson-stained amiss
Florever blooming endeavours
Aquatic yearning arose
Soaked in velvet, so called hell fit
Lucy’s bouquets were ever imposed

Deathbeds of roses
I felt the rain come down
Pain in the folding stems
While I stayed on the ground

Deathbeds of roses
Deathbeds of roses
I chose it, I chose it
Even bent, I hold it
Deathbeds of roses
Deathbeds of roses
Chain-fenced goodbyes
Couldn’t keep me from it

Rain danced delight
Drugged overdoses
Pain-hancing lies
Life how I chose it
Brain’s bent to fight
Shrugged over roses
Chain-fenced goodbyes
Still I came back to grow
Deathbeds of roses
You left the garden bare
But every broken stem
Kept pulling me back there

Deathbeds of roses
Deathbeds of roses
I chose it, I chose it
Even bent, I hold it
Deathbeds of roses
Deathbeds of roses
Chain-fenced goodbyes
Couldn’t keep me from it

Let the black soil take my name
I bloom through the bruises
If the thorn wants my hand
It learns what the truth is
Lucy’s bouquets, all those wounds
Turned into my witness
I rose from the bed of loss
And called that a living

Deathbeds of roses
Deathbeds of roses
I chose it, I chose it
Even bent, I hold it
Deathbeds of roses
Deathbeds of roses
Chain-fenced goodbyes
Couldn’t keep me from it
