Word play sometimes goes that way
Clever ruminations
The abstract
Sometimes almost conjurings
I could feel and almost see
Woven layer on layer
Joys and pains
Tethered escapes
Though fiercely longed for
You remained
The silences of distance too
Times away, elsewhere gathering
Like the sigh of passing time
Oft threaded through your lines
And pain
Pain to match my own
Across uncertain seas
Sometimes we seemed so close
Others, so alone
And still we circled
The twin orbits of worlds our own
And I wondered
What was life like out there
Was like with you
Who forged words like runes
With ancient wisdom
Steeped with sorrow
And then again
Clever and witty on the morrow
Wondered how you looked
The sound of your voice
The true woman in you
Only imagined
And I
I ramble
Scattered
Searching for I know not what
Yet finding feelings closer
In your words
And all isn’t black and white
Words on a page
I sometimes say too much
Yet wish I could say more
Because sometimes words heal
