The Language of the Pull

HomePoetryThe Language of the Pull

It doesn’t start loud
It never does

It starts with beckon…
a quiet invitation
barely spoken

Then draw
something shifts
attention narrows
breath changes

Next tempt…
choice enters
but it’s already
leaning one way

Tease
a brush
then a pause
tension stretched thin
on purpose

Beneath that stir
something wakes
slow
deliberate

It lingers long enough
to mesmerize

focus deepens
the outside world softens

And in that softening
enthrall

now it holds you
not forcefully
inevitably

It becomes consume
not destruction
but immersion
being taken
into the moment
fully

      • Thank you, Tim a slow beginning always finds its rhythm and I’m glad the writing landed for you. I’m slowing moving everything from the cafe over here. I’ll be reading some the next few days, so I’ll wander over to your page, as I always enjoy your work. Hope you had a lovely day.
