I found only one man
who stays true to his heart”
he rides a bicycle
though a BMW waits in silence.
He cooks his own meals
though lavish iftaars call his name,
he wears simple clothes
though wardrobes could overflow with brands.
Every now and then
he searches for simple things”
not just in his room,
but in the quiet corners of life.
He loves a smile,
and becomes softer when I laugh aloud.
He notices my straightened hair,
the red dot upon my forehead,
the way I dress,
the care in my makeup.
He asks not for much”
just a listening ear,
a gentle touch,
hands to hold,
and a kiss upon his lips.
People have tried to wear away his patience,
measuring him in money,
calling him a thief,
claiming his family steals their peace.
Yet what did he do?
He gave”
rides, help, kindness without count.
And still, when more was demanded,
his home became a place
where burdens were carried away,
one after another, on tired shoulders.
And here I say”
he is my strength,
my wise and powerful God,
who knows how to love,
and how to protect.
He stands firm and says:
“Do not step upon my wife’s peace”
or you will fall
i
nto the hell of your own making.”
