Good Bye

HomePoetryGood Bye

I called my mom
To tell her I love her
And then I told my wife
I was going for a drive
I gave her a hug goodbye

Then I texted my son
When I got in the car
Because I couldn’t bear
To hear his voice
And I didn’t want to cry

I thought about my friends
And people that I work with
But why waste my time
It wasn’t worth the effort
To bother saying good bye

I accelerated rather quickly
My foot pressed to the floor
Driving with determination
On a high bridge over a river
This was the way I wanted to die
Good bye

    1. A dark one. I can picture someone standing at his grave. Suddenly they get dizzy and hear him speaking these words. As they snap out of it, they wonder if they were dreaming, or if it was real.

    2. Powerfully penned, Mstrmnd. Depression is a powerful beast that twists and distorts everything around us, I speak from experience of course. The important thing is to always look towards the light, if you’re climbing towards that light, eventually you get out of the hole. That’s my best advice. It’s not easy but worth it. Best wishes my friend. Appreciate you.
