Wasting Away In The Dew

Summary:
One from my notebook vault. Written around 1994 or 1995 with young adult angst.

Looking for shelter from the rain

Looking for life away from pain

Nothing to leave, to take, or gain

It’s all too dark but very plain

Things are cold

And I’m out of the blue

Wasting away in the dew

If I’m too silent I can shout

If you don’t want me in, then I can go out

There is many a thing I can do without

Many a shadow within a doubt

It’s old to me

Nothing is new

Wasting away in the dew

If what is what and why is why

There’s a little truth within a lie

If we should laugh when we should cry

Who is to say we didn’t try

We’re washed up

And weary of this tune

Wasting away in the dew

    1. Powerfully penned, Brandon. Oh, the nostalgia of teenage angst, I can relate. Excellent write with amazing wordplay you really know how to turn a phrase my friend. Nicely done. Appreciate you.
