Summary:
I penned this one in June of 2024. Another one hidden in the corner of the vault. I might have released on DUP, not sure anymore. lol. Be safe, folks. Appreciate you. - Damian DeadLove

Don’t paint me with your brush

When you can’t begin to understand

Does it give you some kinda rush?

Helping build this arrogant brand

I’m going to end this torment

Suffocate the chain of command

Darkness that once laid dormant

As corruption resides over land

Death follows lost souls around

Till we’re ten feet underground

Think you can predict the future?

With influence reaching far

Tainting everything once pure

Revealing another nasty scar

I’ve grown immune to such hate

Burning every single bridge down

Let’s just get this fucking straight

Beware of this suit wearing clown

Games that’s all these people play

Sliding deeper into obscure decay

    1. You have a very firm inner voice in this piece.

It’s truly exquisite and impressive in its own way.

I admire the delicate flow of each stanza.

You have a strong, masculine presence. And I can sense it throughout this poem.

A pleasure to read and take in. x

    2. Oh! This needs to be on the album! There’s so much truth in this and then that blast of “come to Jesus” as my grandma used to say, near the end. I don’t remember this one, but a year and a half later it’s still just as relevant. Things have gotten worse, but truth still rings through loud and clear for those willing to listen. Powerfully written, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It was already in consideration for the album. lol. Unfortunately things have gotten worse that’s for sure, but I’m stubborn, so I don’t plan to stop writing about these assholes anytime soon. I always enjoy your commentary and the continued support my friend. Appreciate you.

    3. There’s a raw fire in this—anger sharpened into something honest, even when it burns bridges on the way out.
I like the grit of it… you’re not asking to be understood, just refusing to be painted by someone else’s dirty brush.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Thomas. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That’s a damn fine analysis of what I was going for, you’re spot on brother. Appreciate you.
