put the poet away
no way to put it
any other way
The words strike the floor,
low and heavy,
a drum you didn’t mean to summon
but summoned anyway.
put the poet away
no way to put it
any other way
The echo answers back,
a pulse in the soles,
a thrum in the ribs,
a rhythm that rises
even when you try to still it.
put the poet away
no way to put it
any other way
Now the chant grows teeth,
now the breath grows bold,
now the silence splits
under the weight of the beat.
You push the poet down—
the poet pushes back.
You close the door—
the door remembers your name.
put the poet away
no way to put it
any other way
And the refrain keeps circling,
keeps circling,
keeps circling,
until the room itself
begins to move.

Beautifully penned, PAR. An excellent write with a catchy flow to it my friend. Nicely done per usual. Appreciate you.

Thank you brother! ❤️
This piece reminded me of some psychedelic trip. Visually and lyrically speaking. I need to listen to some Jefferson Airplane! Nice work my friend.
