(To be recited in twilight, before extinguished candles and broken mirrors.)

I kneel before the god who never asked.

I light a candle that was never wax.

I speak the name that was never given.

I offer truth wrapped in illusion.

You wear robes woven from denial.

You chant hymns that echo only doubt.

You bow to the throne carved from absence.

You drink from the chalice of unmaking.

You kiss the relic that erases memory.

He traces the sigil that undoes meaning.

He walks the path that loops into itself.

He carries the book with blank pages.

He crowns himself with thorns of silence.

He prays to the echo that mocks his voice.

He burns incense that smells of forgetting.

She raises her hands to the void.

She confesses sins she never committed.

She receives absolution that binds her tighter.

She sings praises to the hollow sovereign.

She carves idols from broken promises.

She fasts in honor of the feast that never came.

We wear the mask that erases our face.

We build temples that collapse inward.

We baptize ourselves in disbelief.

We anoint our brows with the oil of negation.

We recite verses that unwrite themselves.

They offer sacrifice to the altar of ash.

They dance in circles that never widen.

They dream of gods who never wake.

They sleep beneath the stars that do not shine.

We swear oaths to the silence.

She breaks bread with the void.

He traces his lineage to the unspoken.

You worship the reversed face.

I believe in nothing and nothing believes in me.
