In the beginning…
There was darkness…
A blink later there was a supernova…
An entity commanded, “Let there be light!”
In our beginning…
There was distrust…
A moment later there were
your starry eyes and ebony lips…
You commanded me,
“Let your light be tangled with my darkness!”
Our shared shadow
tails onto the floor behind…
Suffocating the flames of white candles…
And the colorful flowers
that sag and discolor…
And stained-glass windows which shatter!
Oh, the darkness in you!
And the light within me!
May the vines of our grave
grow and tangle through time!
This coexistence between us!
Your darkness holds within
the light of mine as we tangle.
Then our shadows morph into creatures.
And thus, as two Gothic loves…
Even in the absence of a candle flame,
we live life as fluidly as light flows within our
dark, tangled vines over our shared grave.
