Truth’s a Mirror

Summary:
🎵🎵 You can play the song at the bottom of the page if you'd like. Thank you so much!

Can we all agree to disagree
on what the world thinks of you and me
Stop being silent on the inside
while burning on the outside for the whole world to see

Anger arises from weak minds
Eye-opening deaths provoke hate crimes
Do we unite in our brief lives
Or keep dodging rubber bullets and enamel from canines
Catch a line from a rap with your opened eyes
Feel alive after death when they sow the lines

Whispers echo in the vacant halls
Our shadows dance on crumbling walls
Truth’s a mirror
Cracked but clear
We’re the story they all fear

Is there life after death
Contradictive minds
Brutality projects on thoughts
help us clean the isles

Press a pen to paper
Depress caps from atlas
Write your anger down
help prevent a red mess
This madness is the cause of lead chests
Perfection is a flawed projection of one’s best

Whispers echo in the vacant halls
Our shadows dance on crumbling walls
Truth’s a mirror
Cracked but clear
We’re the story they all fear

Afraid of witnessing a raid on frightening witnesses
Too late to step back from late back stabbing politicians
Stand united
Stand strong

We are anonymous
We are one

Whispers echo in the vacant halls
Our shadows dance on crumbling walls
Truth’s a mirror
Cracked but clear
We’re the story they all fear

Whispers echo in the vacant halls
Our shadows dance on crumbling walls
Truth’s a mirror
Cracked but clear
We’re the story they all fear

Is there life after death

Truth’s a mirror

Press a pen to paper

We’re the story they all fear
We’re the story they all fear

  1. hello dearest Drieks this is one of your best in my opinion the climate out there is daunting… it worries me everyday I’m too old to change things in the eighties when I was young it was all about the money I don’t know if things have changed great write ❤️

    • Thank you Crimsin ❤️ I wrote most of this piece years ago and it saddens me that nothing has changed. If anything, it has gotten worse. I really appreciate your kind words.

  2. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Keep creating these songs of truth, my beautiful friend. Those who remain silent have their own truths to face.
    Amazing song.

  3. Powerfully penned, Drieks. Excellent write, you’re a gifted lyricist my friend. Love the choice of Reggae to paint the background for your amazing words my friend. Such a truthful message about the state of the world. Appreciate you.

    • Hey Damian! Can you believe I spent hours fitting these lyrics to punk rock??
And then my sister was listening to a reggae song on her phone and that changed my mind instantly. I personally love the way it sounds as it is now.

Thank you for your kind words Damian. I won’t forget your support.

  4. Another strong piece, my friend. I am so glad Her introduced us. I listen to you often (I even read the words! — and they are alway truthful and necessary).

I am so glad your sister wasn’t listening to a polka; this song would have a very different vibe. Brrr!
