THE AFFAIR
Fat Agnes snitched. I knew she would.
We saw Nick Smith kissing Pastor
Roy’s wife out by the dumpster between the church and the soup kitchen.
They saw that we saw and begged us
to let them gently tell Roy. I was glad
they didn’t want me to lie. Judge me!
They would have had to pay me off.
I’m honest. I would have admitted to
God that I lied for the money. If they
had paid us – they might have gotten
away with it. But Agnes snitched.
In just 10 minutes, Roy stormed into
the soup kitchen and punched Nick hard in the face! The fight broke three chairs and started a secondary fork fight!
Forks flew between hungry locals who
probably threw mashed potatoes in
high school. When things finally calmed,
Roy was crying. His wife was crying.
Nick wasn’t so handsome with a
pummeled face. Roy, finally spoke up.
“All these years…I thought you loved me?”
Nick answered, “I do, Roy. I do.”

Classic…..made me giggle.
I thought you loved me….brilliant
Okay first stanza is the shocker.
Then you twisted it in the last stanza.
Mouth open all through this read. Then I laughed.
I enjoyed this surprising tale. That darn Agnes!
She’s appeared in two previous pieces. She’s the church bookkeeper who is stealing to fund her casino addiction.
