Summary:
First draft of chapter five. Terry is awoken by sister Eve, where the sister convinces Terry, like God, she must be feared to be respected. Sister Eve sends Terry back out into the gloomy city to grow confidence and defend herself.

Terry was culture-shocked by the generosity shown to her by the church.
“I am sister Eve, Terry. Do you mind if I started calling you Terry?” The sister spoke with such calm it soothed Terry’s anxiety.
     “Yes, you can sister Eve.”
“Shush!” The sister smiled and continued, “just Eve.”
There sitting on Terry’s bed, these two women from two different worlds are both God-fearing.
” You fear God, it means you love him and yourself, Terry.” Terry’s eyes bored into Eve’s. “Follow His laws and always fear Him.”
Terry spoke up, “should people fear me, Eve?”
“If every man fears you then they will respect you.”
Terry choked before speaking, “but I don’t know how to fight and I was even raped.”
Eve’s face became stone as she held out her closed hand. A teardrop from Terry fell onto Eve’s fist. “Here Terry, take this, it’s a second step after fearing God of course.” Eve open her hand and there glinting in the sunlight was a brass knuckle. “Hold it, Terry.”
Terry grasped the brass and fed each finger through a hole then made a tight fist. Terry looked up to Eve and swore, “never again will I be disrespected and raped in some dark corner!”
Eve smiled and encouraged Terry, “they will never bother you again, girl.”
     “So now what, Eve?”
“Go out after breakfast and shower, down to that island, and show off your new fist made of solid brass, Terry.” Now there were a few people bothering you, don’t come back to this church until your brass knuckles are bloody. That’s how I will know that you fear God and love Him. That’s  how I’ll k ow that others now fear you and a I’ll respect you!”
     “Ok?” Terry said quizzically.
Both Terry and Eve rose from the bes and Eve began, “carry it juts like that and whoever disrespects you or tries to sexually assault you, don’t stop beating their face in with your brass. Now, I will pray for you, but you must do it.”

Standing outside the church with a brass knuckle in one fist, Terry glanced back at Eve.
      “Go on, Terry!”
