my sadness haunts, touch me once and you'll feel it too
the misty darkness in my eyes
the depths of my soul, clowded over with shadows
keening heart, a wept rebellion
in deep need of understanding
alone in my pain
none to know, I drive them all away
singing a sorrowful refrain
my woeful melody plays
secrets of doubt
you love me but can’t touch the dark I conceal inside
stirring in the background
you see my ghosts here and there
they frighten even the staunchest of visitors
melancholy my being
savor the feeling
don’t flee the feeling it comes and goes
with a penetrating look and some tears
my heart turns and walks away

Powerfully penned, Brenda. A very heartfelt write my friend. Appreciate you.
