Winter Is Coming

Winter is coming, the kids are hungry.
not from fate,
not from the tilt of the earth,
but from men in warm rooms
counting coin by firelight.

They let the shelves go bare,
they let the prices climb,
they feed their pockets fat
while children chew on time.

The snow falls heavier
because it was ordered to.
The wind cuts deeper
because profit sharpens the blade.

Winter is coming, the kids are hungry.
Its not a season
its a sentence.
Written by hands
that will never feel the frost.

    1. Geez, this is current. Those in power are leaving the poor in the dust…and then shoveling more dirt upon them to cover up the problem with the gap between the rich who have and the have not’s who don’t.

Heavy stuff with a strong, strong message…certain folks in power need to read this.
