I don’t turn on the TV
or put on some music
pick up something to read
or go shopping
visit a friend….nope
I’ll just sit
in the silence
and suffer
until suffering befriends me
then we’ll grin like idiots
and laugh too loud
at how stupid humans are.
Maybe that’s the secret:
everyone hungers for a companion
if not joy, then sorrow,
if not love, then suffering,
which lingers long enough
to feel like loyalty.
Everyone needs a friend
even if it is suffering.
That must be the secret because some people seem to enjoy it a little too much sometimes. But in all seriousness, there are definitely days where it feels like you might as well just embrace it because that’s all there is left to do. Kind of reminds me of some song lyrics from a song I like, “So I made friends with all my demons/ Let ’em sink their teeth in/ Got used to the feeling of letting it go” and a mix of “you either laugh about it or you’ll cry”.

I find sitting still quite pleasant these days.No noise except for the sound of the universe.
How painfully correct you are.. and yet
while painful I still found the ability to smile during the read. Humans are indeed idiots.
