we speak in broken notes
tuned to the rhythm
of shattered steps
voice crackin like the pavement
we walk side by side on
still risin to be heard
like we have somethin worth sayin
to the silence
that swallowed us alive
our hands have touched the same scars
our tongues tasted the same ash
fumblin thru nights without answers
searchin for somewhere to call home
we’re not whole
but we hold tight to our pieces
buildin ourselves up
from the rubble
that wasn’t meant to stand
every word we say
every breath we take
stitchin back together
the broken spaces between us
brought together by the unspoken
and the moments we don’t have to explain
none of us can fix the cracks
but we’ve learned to stand strong
under the weight of them
we are the same song
sung in different keys
but still findin harmony
in the noise of what’s left
