I will not fight against the darkness.
I will not surrender to it.
I will meet it in the demilitarized zone,
With trepidation and without protection
until I understand that darkness
only exists because of the light.
If it’s dark here, it’s light somewhere else. Be happy for those in the light.
When you do that, some of their light will find its way into your darkness.

To me, darkness in this sense means trials and tribulations. If we never went through the darkness, we wouldn’t grow. I’ve embraced my dark times. I’m glad you wrote this, Peter.
