How could something so angelic,
look so deadly?
Eyes of temptation,
with a stare that is deathly.
Hips and curves,
willing any man to his knees.
Full lips, painted a crimson red,
plump and beautiful like they were stung by bees.
Gorgeous features that scream,
DROP DEAD.
Watching her walk away,
fills you with dread.
Alas, there are no survivors
to tell truth of her myths.
I’m starting to think,
there is death in her kiss.
– Poetic Gawdess

Desert rose..Kiss of death. Are you trying to kills us all softly and sweetly, Poetic Gawdess?! Hehehe
Joking aside, I liked many lines. Especially this one: “..there are no survivors
to tell truth of her myths.” Wow! Reminds me of Medusa.
Keep on the good writing! But please, I want to live.
Awww, M.E but where is the fun in that? All good things come with a little temptation and a walk on the dark side.. ☺️ But in all honesty I also thought of Medusa in that line.. because I have a hard on for her and other beauties of the mythological history. I do appreciate the kind words! Thanks for reading. xx

I imagine there are many like her, willing to sting and fly away. I’ve seen those eyes and that body before. They can be like a magnet to men if they’re not cautious.
Nice descriptions in this.
Very true indeed. Like flies to honey; thanks for reading Dragon-Fire. xx

Your poetry kicks ass. Reminds me of some erotic thriller film from the early 90’s they’d air on HBO or Showtime.
Awww Vision, you sure know how to make a girl blush ☺️ thank you for reading! xx

Sirens on the shore! I love how you use rhyme, and the imagery is so alluring… much like those deadly mermaids. Oh, to be Odysseus tied to the mast screaming to be loosed. You capture the vision.
You get it, you get me! Haha thank you so much for reading and for the comment! xx

Nice tight little poem. Il bacio della morte. There are worse ways to die 🌼
Hey, Average Joe, I do appreciate the read. And I agree with you, it’s a pretty bad ass way to go. xx

This is a sensually woven warning, very cleverly worded. Definitely paints potent imagery
Willow, I sincerely thank you for your kind comment! I definitely was hoping to paint a mental image and I am glad to know that I delivered. xx

Perhaps life imitating art? Or, do I have it backwards; art imitating life? Apparently, drop dead gorgeous are these sirens…the praying mantis, black widow, and some species of octopus. Hmm…somewhere before…I know I’ve heard the phrase, “I’ve died and gone to heaven.” Pulchritudinous, Voluptuous and Callipygian come to mind. I enjoyed reading your poem. It made me to stop and ponder in the moment. Thanks.
Angel, thank you. To be honest, sometimes I’ll start a poem and have absolutely no idea where I’m going with it. But this piece particularly flowed effortlessly because those exact sirens came to mind. I wanted to capture their alluring nature and present it in this poem in the form of a woman, because we know just how tempting we can be. I appreciate your kind words. xx
