Inked Dry

I never seem to understand why
I feel as though I am inked dry,
as if my inkwell ran its course,
my poetry bone dry of all remorse.

Just jotting down these brittle lines,
missing all of these subtle signs —
omens littered all along this road,
each one a prophecy left untold.

Still hoping to somehow save the world,
while my lonely life is thus unfurled,
a ledger of all I’ve yet to become —
both pluses and minuses in my sum.

Never seeing what truth lies beneath
all these words I dare to bequeath,
lines that fall on unlistening ears,
each further distilled down in tears.

Lost beneath this cloud of doubt,
searching for any way in or out,
trapped within the margins of paper,
as my flame dwindles as if a taper.

    1. Hey LDF…

      This is ever so beautiful…

      Like a dark piano unto
      my soul…

      (Haven’t slept for a bit…

      Twas quite the thing,
      today…)

      The liminal…

      I got the sandbox for
      NWP forum redesign…

      The interface is…

      A leaner version of DUP…

Need to see it in action…

But I like it very much…
