Summary:
Another poem for my next poetry book, "Inks of Africa" - a collection of poems from my three safaris and cruise to the Dark Continent. I found out that I will be able to include glossy color photos I took during the trips.

The savannah sun begins to rise
and paints the blackened earth in amber glow
gilding the ground beneath the open skies
a prelude to what I have yet to know

I wander on while morning winds now rise
and whisper truths the ancient grasses know
their voices low yet rich with old replies
to questions carried deep from long ago

The herd moves slow across the sleeping land
each hoofprint pressed into the earthen skin
They roam by some deep code I understand
a rhythm pulsing quietly within

So let this day unfold and gently teach
for wisdom walks where wonder still can reach
