the night derailed, I was feverish to cover my sin
with platitudes and lost thoughts
my soul sinks with the realization I’m prone to dive
into my bag of despair
sully what’s good with lies
it hurts to know I might be no good
a defective part of some bigger machine
Eternity glares at me, but the spirit is forgiving
and I ask where will my journey lead
Will sorrow always be a part of me
He answers yes, and in spite of my mood, I’m growing
the evolution of a soul never finishes
it continues and pain is a part of that
learning and ascending
becoming fitting company
for a being of great complexity
grateful for the assessment
my soul lightens, mistakes will be made
and pardons given

Filled with the desire to live life fully unburdened by guilt and sorrow. A truly grand ode to a higher power. Very strong emotions made into an eloquent poem.

hello lovely poetess thank you graciously ❤️
The first two verses were incredble hard to top.
But you maintained your intensity.
I often find verses scream out to me when I read peoms.
