Thank you so much, Fia, I wanted to express the tragedy of the thousands of children caught up in war – in this case trapped in Ukraine, her parents dead, relying on her imagined fantasies for freedom and escape, then Gaza, and Sudan, now Iran – why are we so inhuman towards those most vulnerable? It is a bit musical. I wish for a better day, each and every day. That deer lost in headlights is so true

I like how this feels angry and tenderly thought at the same time. I like that hopefulness in the dark

Damian the fire in the eyes of those zealous followers of the pied piper elevated to guru status is painted in your poem with fire and smoke. Truly a smoking great poem that is as strong emotionally as it is rhythmically. You have real talent my friend.

I can identify with this being I’m turning 64 soon. Life is how you look at it. Your strength in this shows your positive view about yourself. That’s called wisdom. Great writing, Willow.

I never thought I’d be one to age gracefully. When I was young I thought for sure I’d fight it tooth and claw. But here I am, looking backwards and smiling forward. I don’t know what the days will bring, but I know what the years have brought. I’ll face them with a cup of something hot and a determination to make the best of them. Thank you, my friend

This is an interesting conversation between the two (father and daughter). the opening about how the body reacts even though it is deceased is and interesting opening.
